What is the key advantage of a synchronous motor for timing applications?+
A synchronous motor's speed is locked to the supply frequency (50Hz or 60Hz) and does not vary with load. This means no speed controller or feedback is needed โ the motor always runs at exactly the correct speed for precise timing.
What happens if the load exceeds the motor's rated torque?+
If the load torque exceeds the pull-out torque, the motor will lose synchronism and stall. The motor must be selected with adequate torque margin for the application. Contact us with your load data for selection support.
Can this motor run on both 50Hz and 60Hz supply?+
Output speed changes proportionally with frequency โ at 60Hz the motor runs 20% faster than at 50Hz. If your application requires the same output speed on both frequencies, a different gear ratio is needed for each. Contact us for details.
Is the rotation direction reversible?+
Yes. Direction can be reversed by wiring changes. Please refer to the wiring diagram supplied with the motor or contact us for guidance.
